Cristiano Ronaldo tips Barcelona's Lamine Yamal to win Ballon d'Or

Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo has named Barcelona's youngster, Lamine Yamal, a possible future winner of the ever-coveted Ballon d'Or. 

France Football recently released their 30-man shortlist for the award, and Yamal, aged 17, was on the list—the youngest any football player has received such a nomination. 

While he is not expected to win the award this year, with the Real Madrid duo of Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham and Manchester City's Rodri in a three-way battle, Ronaldo foresees a future in which the Spain international lifts the Golden Ball. 

More football opinions from Cristiano have been filtering through since the launch of his YouTube channel. He released the second part of his interview with former teammate Rio Ferdinand, and they spoke in part about the sport's future stars. 

The former Juventus superstar, who is himself a five-time winner of the award, was speaking about Real Madrid’s new signing, Kylian Mbappe, who he believes will dominate the sport in years to come, before proceeding to list others he believes will join him on that cadre. 

“Kylian Mbappé can win the Ballon d’Or for the next few years! Also probably Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham,” he said. “Also Lamine Yamal.”

Meanwhile, Ronaldo recently declared his undying love for his former club Manchester United, stating that he wished them success.
