After several months of exhilarating, high-level football, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have seemingly run out of steam, at the worst time too.
Piers Morgan on Arsenal's woes
Television personality and vocal Arsenal supporter, Piers Morgan could not hide his displeasure, tweeting:
"A horribly lacklustre, passion-devoid, spiritless, pathetic performance that cements an inexplicably dismal run-in to a season which promised so much. Bottom line: we choked."
Morgan who conducted the controversial interview with Ronaldo in December that led to a messy divorce from Manchester United and a move to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, continued to respond to fans on Twitter.
Ronaldo to Arsenal?
He made a bold claim regarding Ronaldo and Arsenal by saying, "Mock all you like, but if we’d signed Ronaldo when he left United, until the end of the season - as he was keen to do btw - we would have won the League,"
Mock all you like, but if we’d signed Ronaldo when he left Utd, until the end of the season - as he was keen to do btw - we would have won the League. He knows how to win major trophies, and how to score goals when it really matters. https://t.co/nxRhDCONRC

It is hard to say definitively if the Gunners would have won the Premier League with Ronaldo on their books but it certainly remains an intriguing prospect.
