Anyembe, who is capable of playing both at right and left back, told FKF that he could not wait to don the national team colors again.

“I was nervous but I think I did well when I came in,” he said, “Of course I want to play as many minutes as possible. This was just the start,” he added.

"From now on, I hope it is only upwards. Hopefully, more minutes will come. I will do my best to play well for my club and if the coach decides to bring me again, I will show him that I want to play more minutes.”

Anyembe has called upon every Kenyan to support the team as they seek to build some momentum following a year out in the cold due to a suspension imposed on Kenyan football by FIFA.

“I am very delighted with the support that I have received already. I am excited to be here and I hope for more support, not only for myself but also for the team.”

Anyembe plies his trade with Danish Superliga side Viborg FF.
