Davido and Pinnick: Nigerian Afrobeats star and former NFF boss settle on 2 billion naira suit

The Amaju Pinnick-led Brownhill Investment Company Limited filed a breach of contract case against Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, and the parties have agreed to settle out of court.

Amaju Pinnick, a former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), criticized Davido in October 2023 for not performing as promised at a function in Warri, Delta State, even though he had been paid $94,600.

Brownhill Investments Company Limited filed a lawsuit in Effurun's Delta State High Court with case number EHC/183/2023.

Pursuing N2.3 billion in damages, the company filed a lawsuit against Davido.

Even though Davido had been paid the desired sums, he was accused of breaking a contract when he failed to participate at the 19th edition of the "Warri Again" concert.

In addition to asking the court to award N150 million for professional and legal fees, the claimant also asked for an extra N30 million to cover the cost of bringing the lawsuit against Davido.

Pinnick added that further fees of $18,000 were incurred in order to arrange for the singer to be transported to Warri aboard a chartered plane.

It was learned, nevertheless, that the two sides came to a mutual decision to settle the dispute out of court.

Later on Thursday, the Delta State High Court granted their plea.
