After suffering arm and shoulder injuries in back-to-back defeats to Joseph Parker and, most recently, Zhilei Zhang via TKO in June, Wilder is currently recovering.

Wilder vs Ngannou

Ngannou has had two very distinct boxing appearances with mixed results.

Anthony Joshua defeated "The Predator" in a Round 2 knockout defeat in March after he had knocked down and nearly defeated Tyson Fury in a contentious decision loss in October 2023.

Wilder was rumored to have a return against a lower ranked opponent but was not unable to make it happen.

Ngannou on the other hand recently celebrated Easter in Cameroon with a hint of returning to the ring soon.
