Didier Drogba acknowledges Osimhen's greatness
Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has taken to his Twitter account to praise Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen for his exploits in Serie A, leading Napoli to their first Scudetto title since 1990.
The Napoli point man previously named the former Ivory Coast international as his role model, and he is now on the ascent towards becoming one of the greatest African strikers like the man he looks up to.
What Drogba said
Napoli returned to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium yesterday in a win against Fiorentina after they mathematically became champions through an Osimhen goal that earned a title-winning point against Udinese.
I Partenopei had an elaborate post-game celebration, and the Nigerian striker at the centre of it all posted a picture from the event and captioned it "greatness."
The former Galatasaray man quoted Osimhen's tweet, acknowledging the implied greatness, congratulating him for making history, and congratulating Napoli for their third-ever Serie A triumph.
"Indeed Capo @victorosimhen9 from the streets of Nigeria to the world’s history books," Drogba said on his Twitter.
"Congratulations, my brother, to you and your club @en_sscnapoli."
