Gondomar is where Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, took their first steps in football. The club currently competes in the Portuguese fourth division.

The Portuguese club unveiled its three new kits. The faces of the two former players appear at the bottom of each jersey, whether yellow, red, or blue. Their names, along with the infinity symbol, are also printed on the back.

“More than a jersey – an eternal tribute. This season, Gondomar will take the field with heavy hearts. Our new jerseys will feature the faces of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva, two sons of Gondomar, who left us too soon but who will forever remain in the history of our club and football.

Every time our players wear this jersey, it will feel as though Jota and Silva are with them on the pitch. Football is more than just victories and goals; it's a legacy, a family, a love for our home,” stated Gondomar officials.

The Porto-based club was Diogo Jota's "home" for eight years, from 2005 to 2013. He was 28 when he passed.

From there, he moved on to Pacos Ferreira, then Atletico Madrid, before arriving in England, where he played for Wolves and Liverpool. Gondomar's academy has been named after Jota since 2022.
