DR Congo beat Guinea Syli to reach AFCON 2023 semis
DR Congo are the latest team to book a place in the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCOn 2023, semifinals after a comprehensive win against Guinea.
The Leopards defeated the Syli Nationale 3-1 to join Nigeria as the nation to pick up tickets for the semifinals on Friday.
DR Congo overcome Guinea
Goals from Chancel Mbemba, Yoane Wissa and a stunning third from Arthur Musuaku fired the Leopards through to the semifinals.
Guinea started well and took the lead when Mohamed Bayo fired them ahead in the 20th minute but failed to hold on to the lead.
Congo rallied round, with skipper Mbemba kicking off the comeback when he equalised for the Leopards to ensure a share of the spoils at the break.
In the second half, it was all DR Congo as Wissa gave them the lead for the first time in the game via a penalty before Masuaku wrapped things up with a stunning free kick late on.
