EASS: Can Kitende wrestle the title from Kibuli to extend record?

Kitende won the USSSA national ball games back in May to match Kibuli’s 11 titles and will be looking to wrestle the title from Kibuli in Rwanda to extend their record to 13.

ST. Mary’s Boarding School Kitende will be the team to beat when the East Africa Secondary School football championship kicks off on Saturday 19th, in Huye, Rwanda.

Hosts Ecose Musambira from Rwanda have been scheduled to get the ball rolling against Dagoretti High School from Kenya in the only game set for Saturday.

Ugandan representatives Amus College will be in action on Sunday morning against Shanderema from Kenya before St. Henry’s Kitovu debuts on the international scene against Kalangala from Tanzania in the afternoon.

Same time, 12-time record champions Kitende will open their campaign in Pool B against Kiwira Coal Mine from Tanzania.

Defending champions, Kibuli SS will wait until Monday morning to battle their Ugandan rival Kitende in their first game.

FEASSA: on-form Kitende draw Kibuli as Kitovu, Amus meet in groups

St. Anthony’s Boys and Barding High School from Kenya are the only schools outside Uganda to have ever won the regional title. The two won in 2002 and 2016, respectively.

Standard High School Zana (2003), Masaka SS in 2015, Buddo SS in 2018 and Kibuli last year are the only schools to have won the trophy besides Kitende since 2002.
