Ebi Onome: Super Falcons captain denies begging for Olympics spot, launches blistering counter on fake news
In a jaw-dropping outburst, Super Falcons skipper Ebi Onome has savagely hit back at rumours surrounding her reported Olympic team selection.
The furious footballer took to social media to blast 'fake news' bloggers, sensationally claiming they were paid to smear her reputation.
Onome on Super Falcons and Olympics
With the Super Falcons set to regroup ahead of their participation in the 2024 Olympics slated for Paris, Onome was alleged to have reportedly begged coach of the team Randy Waldrum to be a part of the 18-woman team.
However, the veteran defender has now come out to rubbish those suggestions, describing the reports as ‘fake news’.
In her fiery tirade, Ebi thundered on Instagram: "To the person that paid you bloggers to tarnish my image, God will visit you personally!"
The defender, who has represented Nigeria for over two decades, vehemently denied any involvement in the Olympic squad selection process.
She stated that coach Randy reached out to her and stated that he wanted to "focus on younger players" given the limited number needed - a decision she claims to have "respected".
In a chilling warning to her detractors, Ebi ominously declared:
"You all will suffer endlessly for using my name and misleading the people by posting false news about me."
The embattled captain defiantly stood her ground, asserting: "I was never in the Olympics squad from the beginning of the qualifiers."
As the drama unfolds, what i wonder is: Will Ebi's EXPLOSIVE claims lead to a SHOWDOWN with Nigerian football authorities?
