Edo Queens battles Fortress Ladies in Edo FA Cup final

The Edo State Women's Federation Cup defending champions, Edo Queens Football Club, will battle Fortress Ladies FC in the final of the 2023 edition of the Edo State Federation Cup.

The final will be played on Wednesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

The Nigeria women's football league (NPFL) side will be aiming for Edo State to be crowned for a record of eight times.

The NWFL Group B leaders are likely to approach their game against their amateur opponents on Wednesday with the mindset of a prospective league champion after winning the State FA Cup seven times in a row.

The game could be part of Edo Queens' pregame preparation for their Week 10 NWFL match against Confluence Queens FC of Lakoja, who will be hosting the red-hot Benin ladies to a crunching battle in Lokoja next week on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Confidence Stadium Lokoja, Kogi State.

Edo Queens will confront Confluence Queens FC, FC Robo of Lagos, Adamawa Queens FC, Ibom Angels FC, and Abia Angels in the race to the most prestigious Super Six tournament to determine who wears the NWFL crown for the 2022–23 premiership season.
