Emerson Royal becomes a dad shortly after Tottenham’s win over Sheffield United

Tottenham secured a late comeback against Sheffield United after struggling to break down the defence of their opponent.

The day before the birth of his baby, the defender joined his teammates in celebrating Spurs' comeback victory over the Blades.

Royal travelled 5,396 kilometres over the course of the weekend from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to a hospital in Montes Claros, Brazil.

Royal arrived in time for the birth of his son and announced the news on Instagram while sharing two amazing images.

The Brazilian is shown in one photo cutting his son's umbilical cord, and in the second, he is joined by his 26-year-old partner Estela Braga for a family selfie.

Alongside the snaps, as reported by the Sun, he wrote, "17/09/2023... At 17:34 our greatest love was born! Son, we love you so much."

Hundreds of people commented on the social media post in favour of Royal and Estela, congratulating them.

Lucas Moura, a former star for Tottenham, said, "Glory be to GOD! May GOD bless this family you are forming."

Olympiacos aceita Rodinei De Almeida wrote, "❤ ️ ❤ ️ ❤ ️ ❤ ️🙏🏿🙌🏿."

Portugal international William Carvalho said, "Congrats to the family bro."

Meanwhile, Royal and Estela fell in love after meeting in 2020, and the Spurs star occasionally sends her heartfelt notes on social media.

Estela has been spotted attending Spurs games to support Royal and the team. When she was 12 weeks along on March 16, she made the pregnancy announcement.

She has now given birth to a boy, with the announcement made official by the couple on social media.
