Emmanuel Adebayor joins four other legends as CAF ambassadors
Continental football custodians CAF have confirmed the appointment of Togolese football legend, Emmanuel Adebayor, as their ambassador.
The coveted designation confirms the recognition of the expertise and influence of the former captain of the Togo national team to African football.
The 2008 African Player of the Year award has left a massively magnificent mark on the football landscape of Togo.
His tenure as a player witnessed remarkable milestones, including guiding the West African nation to its historic qualification for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Meanwhile, the former Arsenal star is part of the recently established CAF Ambassadors Program, aimed at bringing together prominent figures from African football to promote the values and initiatives of the organization.
It should be recalled that in January, legends El Hadji Diouf, Asamoah Gyan, Ahmed Hassan, and Augustine ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha were announced as the first signatories of the program.
CAF Ambassadors, whether football legends, community role models, or other popular personalities, will play a crucial role in promoting African football and CAF.
As ambassadors, they will be tasked to participate in CAF football-related activities such as tournaments, charitable initiatives, commercial, and social events and a host more.
