AIK’s Kenyan fullback Erick Marcelo Ouma will serve an extra one-game suspension after he was sent off during the 1-0 loss to Djurgården following an altercation with Besard Sabovic.

The melee occurred at the stroke of the 90th minute when Axel Bjornstrom swung a foot at Piotr Johansson which sparked a mass brawl that involved almost all outfield players.

Marcelo joined in the chaos and appeared to put his hands around Sabovic’s throat which led to him being sent for an early shower alongside his teammate Bjornstrom.

In a statement made by the Swedish Football Association, it’s disciplinary committee decided to hand both players a further one game suspension.

“The Swedish Football Association's disciplinary committee has decided that Axel Björnström and Erick Otieno will both receive another one-game suspension after for their red cards,” the statement said.

This means that the duo, who were suspended against Kalmar FF, will also miss Sunday's home match against IF Elfsborg.

The 2018 Swedish league champions have endured a torrid start to the season. They sit second from bottom, having won just one of their opening 11 games.

The rather indifferent form forced club CEO Manuel Lindberg to resign after the loss to Djurgarden.

Otieno was called up to the Harambee Stars squad for their Four Nations Series tournament in Mauritius alongside the host country, Djibouti and Pakistan.
