Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag heaps praise on his defenders following their victory and clean sheet against Nottingham Forest.
The Red Devils beat the Tricky Trees 2-1 at the City Ground to strengthen their hold on the top four spots, thanks in part to their solid defending on the day.
The match in brief
Manchester United had an impressive start to the game, but they had to wait until the 32nd minute to get their first goal of the game thanks to a brilliant strike by record-signing Anthony.
The Brazilian had a brilliant performance before and after his goal and was directly involved in the Red Devils second of the game, playing in Diogo Dalot who finished brilliantly past Keylor Navas for his first Premier League goal.
Forest were kept under control by the Manchester United defence who went away with a clean sheet thanks to a combined effort by the backline.
What Ten Hag said
The Dutch tactician was impressed by his team's defence on the day, saying they displayed a solid performance.
He further analysed their inputs, saying the centre-backs Maguire and Lindelof, showed great cooperation and dominated their opponents while the full-backs, he thought were excellent with and without the ball.
"Very good, a really solid performance from all on the pitch today. Centre backs had great cooperation, full backs were brilliant in and out of possession. Harry [Maguire] and Victor [Lindelof] dominated their opponents," Ten Hag said, per the BBC.
Manchester United will travel to Seville in the middle of the week for their Europa League second-leg clash against Sevilla before facing Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Cup.
