Erling Haaland OUT as Liverpool and Manchester City release lineups
Manchester City will be without star forward Erling Haaland when they face Liverpool in the Premier League after the striker was unable to overcome a groin injury that he has nursed for two weeks.
Haaland misses the game entirely as he failed to make the squad’s bench for the fixture against Liverpool.

In Haaland’s place, Manchester City have selected World Cup winner Julian Alvarez to lead the line in the crucial fixture for the team’s quest for the Premier League title.
Manchester City are currently eight points behind Arsenal in the race for the league trophy and are desperate for the three points against Liverpool.

They will have to fight for the win without Haaland, despite Guardiola’s earlier assertion that the Norwegian might be able to compete in the fixture.
In addition to Haaland, Manchester City will also be without Phil Foden, who is expected to be out for a few weeks to recover from appendicitis surgery.
Liverpool lineup vs Manchester City
Liverpool have no new injuries, and will start with a familiar lineup that sees Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo start upfront for the Merseysiders.

There is no room for record-signing Darwin Nunez in the starting XI, as the Uruguayan has only found a place on the bench. He is joined by midfielder Arthur who could make his Premier League debut after joining Liverpool in the summer of 2022.
