Europa League final: Super Eagles legend Victor Moses hails hat-trick hero Ademola Lookman for leading Atalanta to victory
Former Super Eagle star, Victor Moses, took to social media to commend Ademola Lookman for his performance in the final to lead Atalanta to Europa League glory over Bayer Leverkusen.
The Nigerian forward, Lookman, put on his Superman cape as his hat-trick heroics ended Bayer Leverkusen’s season-long unbeaten run and handed Atalanta their first-ever European title.
Lookman's heroics
Atalanta came into the final games of the season with the chance to lift two trophies, the Coppa Italia and the Europa League. They seemed set for another season of suffering disappointment from being nearly men when they lost the Coppa Italia to Juventus and faced a Europa League final against an unbeaten Bayer Leverkusen.
As early as the 12th minute, Lookman announced La Dea’s intent, firing past Matej Kova. He doubled the advantage in the 26th minute, and with 15 minutes left to go in regular time, he bagged his hat-trick, making it three and taking the tie further away from Die Werkself.

Lookman singlehandedly handed Gasperini his first trophy after 20 years as a manager, and Atalanta’s first major trophy in the top flight since the 1963 Coppa Italia, and he was deservedly handed the Man-of-the-Match for his heroics.
What Victor Moses said
Moses, who is himself a two-time winner of the Europa League (2012/2013 and 2018/19) both with Chelsea, was one of the first to react to Lookman’s heroics in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
