Former Harambee Stars and Kenya Police coach Francis Baraza has returned to Tanzania to take the reins at Tanzanian Premier League side Dodoma Jiji FC.

Baraza, who was sacked by the Law Enforcers at the start of the season, will be enjoying his second stint in Tanzania, having previously coached at Kagera Sugar before coming back to coach in Kenya for nine months.

Dodoma Jiji opted to make the appointment after a string of poor results which left them with no choice but to part ways with their previous coach.

Jiji looked strong contenders for continental places, but losing their last three matches in a row has put them in ninth place, seven points off Simba in third place.

Baraza, who coached Sony Sugar to an FKFPL  title in 2006 and also served as Kenya assistant, has revealed his “pride” at getting to coach in one of the biggest leagues in Africa.

“I am very happy to be back in one of the best leagues in Africa,” Baraza said.

“I want to work closely with the fans too. My target is to perform well in the remaining matches,” he added.

Baraza will be linking up with former Sofapaka coach David Ouma in Tanzania who joined Coastal Union in November, where he has since won three of his first four matches in charge.

Azam currently top the league standings on 28 points with defending Champions Yanga in second place, while Ouma’s Coastal Union are in seventh.
