Ex-Prem star urges Harry Kane to ditch Bayern for Spurs amid 'jealousy' claims
Harry Kane's sensational start at Bayern Munich hasn't been enough to lift the Bavarian giants to their usual lofty Bundesliga heights, as they trail leaders Bayer Leverkusen by seven points.
Despite Kane's 26 goals in 24 games, Bayern's struggle has been compounded by a recent 1-0 loss to Werder Bremen, leaving Thomas Tuchel's side in a tough spot.
Meanwhile, back in England, Kane's former club Tottenham is riding high as a Premier League title contender under Ange Postecoglou.
Kane's Bayern Woes
Chris Sutton, the former Chelsea and Blackburn striker, has weighed in on the situation, suggesting that Kane might be feeling "jealous" of Tottenham's success.
Speaking on Mail Sport's 'It's All Kicking Off' podcast, Sutton said: "Harry, you're out of the German Cup. You've got to come home. You're not going to get your medal at Bayern. You've got to come home.”
“Come back to Tottenham, mate. I think Harry will be looking at what's gone on at Spurs, watching their brand of football. I think there's a bit of jealousy there."
Tuchel Under Pressure
The spotlight is also on Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, who expressed his frustration after the Werder Bremen defeat.
"It was clearly not enough. For over 70 minutes I didn't have the feeling that we were playing for victory. Afterwards I noticed it. Not until there. We were extremely static in the first half. We lost a lot of the ball, allowed a lot of counterattacks, and were sloppy in possession. Deserved defeat," Tuchel told reporters.
Despite the setbacks, Kane remains a bright spot for Bayern, equaling Robert Lewandowski's record for the most goals scored in the first half of a Bundesliga season (22).
He'll be looking to continue his impressive form and chase Lewandowski's full-season record (41 goals) as Bayern faces Union Berlin next.
