Part of those discussions are transfers to be made, and the Argentine is reportedly interested in West Ham's Declan Rice, who is the top transfer target for Arsenal this season.

Pochettino wants Rice

According to 90 Min, Chelsea have discussed a few players with their incoming manager, and the England international is one such name.

The former Tottenham man is said to be keen to bring Rice to Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea look to strengthen their midfield in the summer transfer market.

With reports linking the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Conor Gallagher away from the club, the Blues are expected to make a midfield signing and Rice is one of the names on top of the list following Pochettino's signing off.

The Hammers are expected to soften their stance on Rice, changing their previous "not for sale" position, with the player entering the final years of his contract.

Chelsea will, however, have to battle the Gunners for the signing of their former academy man, as Mikel Arteta's side have registered a long-term interest in Rice, and at this point in time, they lead the race for his signature.
