Exciting Harambee Stars Prospect Kamau Reveals 4 Reasons He Chose to Sign For Hull City
At the beginning of the month, Hull City announced the signing of promising winger Sammy Henia-Kamau following a successful trial period with the club.
The 19-year-old signed a one-year contract, which includes a club option for an additional year, and will join the Under-21s squad.
Conor Sellars, Lead Professional Development Phase Coach, expressed his enthusiasm for the new signing. "We’re delighted to welcome Sammy to the club," he said. "He made a strong impression during his trial at the end of last season, showing some excellent qualities in both training and matches."

"We’re excited to continue developing those attributes while helping him build and refine other aspects of his game," Sellars added.
Henia-Kamau began his football career at Jersey Bulls FC, where he quickly established himself as a prolific goalscorer. He netted 20 goals in 15 games for their Under-16s and six for the Under-18s, eventually becoming the youngest player to score a first-team hat-trick for the club.
His impressive form earned him the Sid Guy Award in June 2022 for the most outstanding player at the Jersey FA’s Centre of Excellence, leading to a scholarship with Swansea City in July 2023.
During his time at Swansea, Henia-Kamau scored a hat-trick against rivals Cardiff City in the Under-18 Professional Development League Cup, a competition where the Swans reached the final. He finished his debut season with 10 goals, earning his first professional contract.
Last season, the forward was a regular for Swansea's Under-21s, competing in the Professional Development League, Premier League Cup, and Welsh League Cup. He later appeared as an unnamed trialist for Hull City's Under-21s in their final two matches against Cardiff and Millwall.
Sammy Henia-Kamau - Why I Joined Hull City
"I am so happy to get it over the line fairly quickly," said Henia-Kamau. "I have enjoyed every minute of training so far. I am already settled here and I just can't wait to get going with the boys."
"All the lads were really good with me on trial and made me feel welcome. Conor is a really good manager. He interacts with the players a lot, which is good. If you have a question, he is easy to go and talk to," he continued.
"When I came at the back end of last season, there were quite a few players breaking into the first team and several out on loan as well, so there are good first-team opportunities here. I just want to kick on, play as many games as possible, get as many goals and assists as I can, and just keep improving as a player."
