Express backtracks on Hassan Mubiru, announce Alex Isabirye as head coach
Less than a day after announcing legend Hassan Mubiru as their interim head coach, Express FC have walked back on their decision to unveil Alex Isabirye in the same role
The latter has been appointed interim head coach for the Red Eagles till the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
Isabirye comes in the direct replacement for James Odoch, who was sacked by the club on Tuesday, after their one-all stalemate with BUL FC at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
This makes it Isabirye's first job since walking away from Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC towards the start of the season.

Isabirye parted ways with the Venoms after guiding them to their first-ever domestic derby; winning both the UPL and the Uganda Cup titles.
His immediate task at Express will be to guide them past historical nemesis SC Villa on Friday at Wankulukuku.
Express currently sit seventh on the 16-team table, having garnered 13 points in their opening nine games of the season.
