Eze scores first Arsenal goal as Gunners cruise to victory against Port Vale
The Gunners came into the game looking to get back to winning ways following their 1-1 draw at the weekend against Manchester City.
Mikel Arteta’s men did a good job securing a 2-0 victory over Port Vale, with goals from Eberechi Eze and Leonard Trossard.
As it happened
Port Vale made four changes to their lineup, with striker Devante Cole among the substitutes, while Arsenal made nine changes, featuring Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard in their starting eleven for the first time.
The Gunners started the game on the front foot and their pressure paid off, leading to the first goal of the game. Gabriel Martinelli again picked the ball up on the left and looked inside for Eze to slot into the bottom corner for his first goal in Arsenal colours.
The visitors continue putting pressure on the home team's defence, but they held their ground entering half-time without conceding more goals.
Arsenal entered the second half looking confident, but it took them till the 84th minute before they got the second goal. William Saliba found the run of Trossard with a lovely pass over the top and the Belgian controlled it perfectly before firing into the bottom corner.
The second goal sealed the game for the Gunners as they qualified for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
