Fans bemoan Joao Cancelo and Leroy Sane link up amid proposed move to Bayern Munich
Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo looks set for an exit from Manchester City with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich touted as his destination this January.
Reports on Monday said that the defending Premier League champions have already given their permission to Cancelo to leave for Germany after becoming disruptive to the squad.
The 28-year-old Portuguese full back has reportedly been vocal in recent weeks over a lack of game time and has seen his relationship with coach Pep Guardiola progressively deteriorate after the World Cup in Qatar.
Cancelo has also reportedly held heated discussions with Guardiola and started only three of the 10 fixtures since returning from international duty.
He was taken off at half time during a recent win over Chelsea and played in defeats by Southampton and Manchester United.
Reports suggest that the situation left City with no choice than to gave Cancelo the green light to depart once he brought a loan offer from Bayern to the table and he is currently putting the finishing touches to the move.
Cancelo set for Bayern switch this January
According to reports, Bayern have the option to purchase the Portugal international for £61 million once the season finishes as per DailyMail.
The agreement for him to seal a switch to the Allianz Arena appears to leave City short of defensive cover, but club sources are adamant that they have enough if a replacement does not arrive before the deadline.

Spain International Aymeric Laporte can also be an option if required.
However, Manchester City are still actively searching for a traditional left back, having refused to meet Brighton’s valuation of Marc Cucurella last summer.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Mendy who remains suspended by City will see his contract expire during his retrial on two counts of sexual violence, to be heard at Chester Crown Court on June 26.
