Olympics women's 4 × 400m relay gold medalist Femke Bol once more proved why she is among the unbeatable queens of the hurdles.

From her early strides, Bol appeared unstoppable. Her bold, smooth rhythm over the fences immediately made her stand out among the rest of the crop in the field. At the half way mark, she was already closing the ground, her stride smooth and consistent.
Canada's Savannah Sutherland tried to keep up with her, but Bol's split for the final turn was disastrous, leaving her challengers scrambling for the minor places.
As Bol opened up the line, she did so with sheer command of this type of environment rarely if ever seen. Not just did her performance succeed, but it demolished any talk of her being in form and confirmed her as the event's standard-bearer.
Sutherland, who was earlier spoken of as a potential challenger, could must only sixth in 55.13, a cruel reminder of the gap between Bol and the rest.
Behind Bol, however, the drama was for silver and bronze. Slovakia's Emma Zapletalová posted the run of her life, shattering a National Record (NR) with 53.58 to claim second. The USA's Jasmine Jones, battling stride for stride, had to settle for bronze in 53.64, fractions adrift of silver.
Amalie Iuel of Norway also earned her career best of 54.38 to finish fourth, with Jamaica's Shiann Salmon equally showing consistency with a season's best of 54.56 to take the fifth spot. The two were pleased with their performances as proof that all their hard work was finally beginning to bear fruit at the global level.
Zapletalová and Jones Shine Behind Bol
Further down the order, Romania's Alexandra Ștefania Uta (56.35) nosed ahead of Poland's Anna Gryc (56.38) in a thrilling battle for seventh. Panama's Gianna Woodruff, ninth in 58.47, may have been at the back of the group but had the determination that marks championship racing.
Femke Bol's Unstoppable Reign
The Silesia Diamond League crowd witnessed something that will not be forgotten on Saturday night. With her commanding win and record-breaking speed, Femke Bol silenced her rivals and again established herself as the unequivocal champion of the women's 400m hurdles.
For Zapletalová, Jones, and the others, the evening brought individual triumphs and new milestones. For Bol, though, it was another milestone in history—a reminder that not only is she winning races, she's rewriting them.
