The three-time world 200m champion was competing in his third 100m of the season after finishing second behind Oblique Seville at the Diamond League Meeting in London and winning his heat of the 100m at the US Championships.

"It's going to be a fast race regardless, you basically have the Olympic final. Maybe just missing two people, adding some really fast people, it's going to be good regardless. Of course, having Kishane there is going to make it even better," Noah Lyles said.

On his part, Kishane Thompson has been impressive in the men’s 100m this season, starting from the Diamond League Meeting in Keqiao, where he finished second behind Akani Simbine.

Kishane Thompson would then continue his campaign at the JAAA WA Championships Preparation #1 and then to the Racers Grand Prix, winning both races.
