Bol clocked an impressive 51.95 seconds in the 400m hurdles, a strong statement ahead of next week’s showdown in London.

Despite a less-than-perfect build-up, Bol surged to victory ahead of American Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad and Britain's Anna Cockrell in what she described as a “thrilling race till the end.”

Wind, Execution, and Unexpected Success

“The race was pretty good,” Bol reflecteda per the Wanda Diamond League Web.

“It was a thrilling race till the end. The wind was different compared to my previous races. Running 51 is always very special. I don’t do that every day.”

The Dutch star revealed she had modest expectations coming into Monaco after a couple of underwhelming performances earlier in the season.

“I was surprised because my first two races didn’t go that well,” she admitted.

“But I always look up to racing Muhammad and Cockrell, you can never count them out. This helps with the adrenaline.”

Bol’s ability to execute a near-flawless race against elite competition, despite recent struggles, served as a boost to her confidence heading into the final leg of the season.

Bol, who also ran two 400m flat races earlier in the season as part of her training regime, said she could feel her shape improving.

“In Stockholm, I ran 52.11. I felt that I had three more weeks with some big trainings and 400m flats, which are also very good training,” she explained.

“We were hoping for a 51. I executed well and had great competitors who I knew were going to push me.”

Now with Monaco behind her, Bol is setting her sights on London and beyond.

“I have London in a week, and after that, we’ll go back to training to prepare for the World Championships and the last competitions,” she said.

With her form steadily building, Femke Bol is clearly emerging as a major contender in what is shaping up to be a blockbuster finish to the season.
