FIFA president congratulates Rangers FC on being crowned 2023-24 NPFL champions
Rangers International won the 2023–24 NPFL, making it a record eighth time winning the league.
They won their season-ending home game against Bendel Insurance at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, 2-0, before travelling to upset Gombe United, 2-1.
Their record title-winning season has been acknowledged by FIFA president Gianni Infantino on social media.
FIFA president congratulatory message
The World Football Body's leader since 2016, Infantino, congratulated the Flying Antelopes on his Instagram story.
Infantino wrote on his Instagram story, “Congratulations Rangers International FC on being crowned 2023-24 champions of Nigeria.”
The FIFA president posted a lot of congratulatory messages on his Instagram story and included the Nigerian club side.
The leader of the governing body recognised the achievement of the Nigerian Premier Football League team.
Rangers won their eighth league title in their final home game of the season, having last won the title in 2016.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s team beat the likes of Remo Stars who came second on the table and Enyimba who came third to the title.
Following their NPFL victory, Rangers will represent Nigeria in the upcoming CAF Champions League, where they intend to have a successful season.
