Foden, Palmer lead Premier League young player of the year nominees

The nominees for the Premier League Young Player of the Year award have been announced!

Manchester City's Phil Foden and Chelsea's Cole Palmer are among the top contenders, joined by six other players who have been outstanding this season.

Erling Haaland, who won the award last season, is looking to retain the title, while Manchester United's Kobbie Mainoo, Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, Tottenham's Destiny Udogie, and Newcastle's Alexander Isak are all in the running.

To be eligible, the players had to be 23 or younger at the start of the season. The winner will be chosen by a combination of public vote and expert opinion.

Voting is open until May 13, and the winner will be announced on May 18.

Thanks to his incredible performances this season, Phil Foden is also a strong contender for the main Player of the Year award.
