Kylian Mbappe has been ruled out of France’s second game against the Netherlands on Friday because of a broken nose.
What happened?
Monday’s incident involving Austria’s Kevin Danso put the Real Madrid star at risk of missing the rest of Euro 2024 if it required a surgery but that was swiftly ruled out by the French Football Federation.
Mbappe was forced off in second-half stoppage due to the seriousness of the injury which many feared could rule out the nation's superstar for the remainder of the finals.
Which games will Mbappe miss at Euro 2024?
According to ESPN, Mbappe will be absent against the Netherlands on Friday, June 21, and is doubtful for their final game of the group phase against Poland on June 25.
The report in ESPN states that the France captain was keen to return against Ronald Koeman’s side with the aid of a protective mask but the 2018 World Cup winners will take no risks with their best player, who could return against Poland if necessary.
