Three straight netball World Cup qualifications are no mean feat, something the She Cranes have pulled off amidst the several challenges they've experienced.

As the 2023 edition edges, many hope the She Cranes put up a better performance than the past two editions, something head coach Fred Mugerwa agrees with entirely.

"We want to get out of the group stages first, then see how we can handle the remaining games; we've dropped in the rankings because we missed various tournaments due to financial challenges," Mugerwa noted.

"Our target at the World Cup is to make sure we return to sixth or fourth in the world."

The She Cranes first qualified for the World Cup in 2015 in Sydney, Australia, and they finished eighth; they bounced back four years later in England and finished one place better.

Pooled in Group D alongside Trinidad and Tobago, New Zealand and Singapore, Fred Mugerwa hopes for another improved performance.

She Cranes schedule

The World Cup is set to run from the 28th of July to the 6th of August at the Cape Town Convention Centre in South Africa.
