Frustrating day? - Nigerian lawmaker laments over Shooting Stars treatment
A Nigerian lawmaker, Oloye Akin Alabi has taken to social media to express his frustration following a disappointing result for his favourite football club, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC).
The politician, who also supports English club Manchester United, revealed his emotional ties to both teams in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) page.

3SC's Home draw sparks outrage
The lawmaker's post came after the 3SC drew with visiting side Ikorodu City on Sunday in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match. The result leaves the Ibadan-based club with just two points from their first three games of the season.
He wrote: "Shooting Stars and Man Utd won’t kill me se. Another frustrating day. A point at home to Ikorodu City. Two points from our first three games. Next Sunday, away to Rivers United, we have to step up. @dondekojo was looking for penalty every second."

A season of mixed fortunes
The lawmaker's double-barreled frustration highlights the shared struggles of both clubs this season. While Manchester United has faced its own challenges in the English Premier League, Shooting Stars are currently languishing in the lower half of the NPFL table after their first three fixtures, with a loss and two draws.
