Gabe Vincent: Nigerian star joins Lakers on ₦‎29 billion contract

Nigerian-American professional basketball player Gabriel Nnamdi Vincent is back among the trends on social media.

Vincent rose to the trend on social media following a move from the Miami Heat to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 27-year-old helped the Miami Heat become Eastern Conference champions, although they lost to the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals.

Point guard Gabe Vincent has agreed to a three-year, $33 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Vincent, who agreed to a three-year contract early on Saturday, July 1, will join the Lakers. 

The 27-year-old should play a significant amount of point guard for Los Angeles.

A statement by NBA insider Shams Charania confirmed the departure of Gabe Vincent from the Miami Heat to the Lakers as a free agent.

The message said, "Free agent guard Gabe Vincent has agreed on a three-year, $33 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell  @TheAthletic @Stadium. 

"Vincent’s agent, Bill Neff, negotiated the new deal for a tremendous undrafted success story."

Vincent becomes a Laker coming off a career-high season in PPG, RPG, FT% and minutes per game.

It is a massive deal for Vincent, as his 33 million dollars are worth an estimated 29 billion naira.
