Ghana beat Nigeria in Basketball The Battle of Real Jollof

The Nike headquarters in New York served as the venue for the "Battle of the Real Jollof".

Notable attendees included NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo, New York Giants star Kayvon Thibodeaux, and musician Jidenna.

The event included a basketball match between Nigeria and Ghana for bragging rights

It involved a competitive basketball game, a jollof rice tasting test, and the greatest Afrobeats and amapiano sounds as part of this celebration of diaspora culture.

Arinze Emeagwali, TJ Adeshola, and Abdul Karim Abdullah initiated the "Battle of the Real Jollof" in 2020, and this year was its third iteration.

Musician Jidenna, New York Giants athlete Kayvon Thibodeaux, Major League DJs, four-time New York Times Best Selling Author Luvvie Ajayi, and other celebrities were there this year.

The basketball match, which brought influencers and hoopers together for an exhibition, showcased the amicable rivalry between Ghana and Nigeria.

Pops Mensah Bonsu, a former NBA player and current executive for the New York Knicks, led team Ghana.

Two-time NBA All-Star Victor Oladipo and ESPN's Ros Gold-Onwude managed team Nigeria.

The game was a back-and-forth struggle that went all the way to the end.

With massive excitement, chest bumps, and impressive dunks, Team Nigeria got off to a great start.

But in the final minute of play, Team Ghana took the lead and never looked back.

African food from vendors was on full show competing in a "jollof off" this year, with guests voting to see who truly makes the finest jollof! This added a whole new dimension to the game! and Ghana won the championship, just like in the game.

Therefore, in this year's competition, Nigerian basketball and Jollof placed last.

This is not the first time Nigerian Jollof and Ghanaian Jollof will be compared, as former Ultimate Championship Fighter (UFC) title holder Israel Adesanya made his preference known.
