Ghetto Tigers unveil five-year plan

Ghetto Tigers Football Club have unveiled a five-year plan for the development of talents at the grassroots.

The club manager Azeez Mustapha revealed to Pulse Sports at the club’s annual award ceremony to celebrate outstanding players in the year.

The grassroots club said they will be playing in the Nigerian League One (NLO) before the five-year plan ends. Mustapha added that they have started from the local government and advanced to play at the division level.

He said, “Before the five-year plan we have set for ourselves we must play in the League. We started from the Glasgow club, which made us a regional club. 

" This season, we will be a division club, after getting the ticket from the Ikeja division, it takes us to the Nationwide League One (NLO).”

On the award ceremony, he said it was to motivate the players to keep growing and have the experience of a professional club.

He said, “The initiative behind this award is simple, you see football club that starts from scratch, this is what good football is all about. 

"This award is just to show what is going on around the world, we need to motivate the players, and we needed to start as much as possible to give them a sense of humor," he said.

Sodiq Idera and Yaqub Shamsu won the club’s female and male players of the year category respectively.

In other categories, Salami Eniola emerged as the U-13 player of the year, Mirza Arham emerged as the winner of the foreign player, and Ogunleye Muiz won the U-15 Player of the year category.

Rotimi Anjola was named U-10 player of the year while Ilori Bayyan won the U-18 player of the year category.
