Gift Orban denied by the post as Gent, West Ham share dramatic spoils

The Nigerian youngster was a handful for the Hammers' defence who did well to limit his options for 83 minutes in the exciting 1-1 draw.

West Ham bizarrely opened the scoring before a beautiful team move saw Gent equalise after the break in their Europa Conference League quarterfinal first leg on Thursday night. 

Orban led the line as Gent dominated the encounter but were forced to come from behind to share the spoils at home.

The 20-year-old Orban was outshone by his partner Hugo Cuypers but he did come close to a spectacular goal in the second half.

In the 82nd minute, with his back to goal, Orban attempted an audacious bicycle kick which almost sailed into the roof of the net but came off the bar instead.

During his time on the pitch, Orban attempted four shots with zero on target.
