Junior Lokosa, brimming with confidence, was the show's star after he led Sporting Lagos to an emphatic win over his former club Kano Pillars.

Lokosa netted a remarkable brace to inspire Sporting to a quick return to winning ways after a comprehensive 3-0 thrashing at the Onikan Stadium on Monday.

Gingered by that fact, Lokosa delivered a masterclass performance, with two goals that secured Sporting Lagos a comfortable victory in the NPFL.

All the goals came in a blistering first-half display that also saw in-form striker, Jonathan Alukwu, get on the score sheet for his fourth goal in as many matches. 

Lokosa’s opener was an instinctive one that rolled back the years before he sealed the deal with a stunning second for Sporting’s third of the evening in an even more emphatic style.

With his pinpoint precision and lethal finishing, Lokosa proved once again why he is considered one of the greats in the NPFL.

Sporting Lagos bounce back

After a controversial defeat to Kwara United in midweek, the Tech Boys returned to winning ways with their fans, known as the Noisy Lagosians cheering for 90 minutes.

Lokosa’s dominant display breathed new life into the team, with help from strike partner, Alukwu. Their goals not only earned them crucial three points but also injected much-needed confidence in the squad, especially for Lokosa.

On the table, Sporting have moved up to sixth with 11 points, just a point from the top four while Pillars are two points behind in 10th.
