‘Good for the team and the nation’ - Ola Aina speaks on Finidi George’s Super Eagles appointment
Finidi George was appointed as the new Super Eagles head coach following the departure of Jose Peseiro who led the team to the AFCON 2023 final.
The ex-Eyinmba manager was unveiled to Nigerians on Monday in Abuja as he prepares for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Ola Aina, Super Eagles of Nigeria, stated before the World Cup qualifier that they hope to win so that they may welcome head coach Finidi George.
According to a video shared on X, Ola Aina said, " What is on my mind is to win and progress and also to welcome the new coach. The appointment of the coach ( Finidi George) is good for the team and the nation.”

The Nottingham Forest defender stated in a short interview that their goal is to win and qualify for the World Cup.
On the third match day, the Super Eagles will play at home against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa and then travel to Ivory Coast to play the Benin.
Aina is expected to play both games as he is considered one of the most important players in the team.
