Sanwo Olu hosts Drogba
As Pulse Sports reported, the 46-year-old was one of the dignitaries hosted by the Lagos governor as part of the state’s collaboration with E1 Racing.
Lagos is set to host the E1 World Championships in September, another initiative that underscores the government's commitment to utilising the state's waterways.
With the electric boat racing competition being brought to his state, Sanwo Olu hosted the competition’s officials, as well as the Chelsea legend, whose Team Drogba would be partaking in the event.
Sanwo exchanged banter with Drogba
The Lagos State governor is an avid football fan and lifelong supporter of Premier League giants Arsenal.
He has been very overt about his followership of the club, hosting winger Bukayo Saka during the England International's visit to Nigeria last year.
Drogba once revealed that he supported Arsenal growing up. “I like to play against Arsenal because they used to be the team people supported in France because of all the French players there,” he said, per FourFourTwo. “So I was supporting them as well, but since I am [at] Chelsea, I do the job for my team and I am really delighted when we win like this.”
