The Red Devils' 3-2 victory over Burnley at the weekend was marked by another error from the man between the sticks.

Altay Bayındır returned to Manchester United's starting lineup against Burnley in the Premier League after André Onana featured against Grimsby (which led to the team's early exit from the League Cup) and was at fault for Jaidon Anthony's goal in the 66th minute, which made it 2-2 at the time.

Goalkeeping errors have often been cited as one of the team's weaknesses, and there has been considerable discussion about the need for a new goalkeeper who can provide the necessary security.

There is talk of Belgian Senne Lammens from Antwerp, and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reported this Sunday that contact has been re-established with Emi Martínez, the Argentine World Cup winner from Aston Villa.

Amorim defends goalkeeper

Ruben Amorim, who has already seen his goalkeepers make mistakes this season against Arsenal, Grimsby and now Burnley, came to the defence of both, stressing that it is difficult to be a goalkeeper in United's current context.

"Guys, they are human. At Manchester United, everything is under scrutiny. Everyone talks about the goalkeeper. And as you can see, I can change goalkeepers depending on the situations that arise.

"We are going through this moment. I think it's difficult to be a Manchester United goalkeeper right now. But if you look at the first goal, we can defend it better.

"We conceded a very similar goal against Fulham because we don't fully rotate the team when the ball is on the other side," he explained, as reported by Sportal.

"I think it's difficult to be a Manchester United goalkeeper right now. All these small details have nothing to do with the goalkeeper. The players are struggling with everything that is happening around the club. It's normal. So, it's not just about the goalkeepers. I think everyone has to improve," he reinforced.
