The Ivorian national football team defeated Congo DR 1-o in their Africa Cup of Nations semifinal match to advance to the final against Nigeria.

Cote d’Ivoire to meet Nigeria

Borussia Dortmund star Sebastian Haller was the hero of the day as he netted the decisive winner to help the Elephants overcome a stubborn DR Congo.

Haller’s goal arrived in the 65th minute of the game as Cote d’Ivoire held on to book a delicious final date with Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

Cote d'Ivoire will look to capture their first AFCON title since 2015 while denying rivals Nigeria a fourth continental crown.

The Elephants showed resilience to beat a stubborn Congo DR side and will be hoping home advantage can propel them to glory against the Nigerians, who have already beaten them in the 34th AFCON.

The Nigerian Super Eagles are aiming for a first AFCON title in 10 years and defeated South Africa to qualify.
