Since making her move to the Austrian Women's League in August 2022, Makungu has been fervently committed to using her success in football to give back and bring about positive change.

Growing up in the unforgiving streets of Korogocho as a female football player, Makungu's journey to the top has been a testament to her unwavering determination and strength.

"It was not easy growing up in Korogocho as a female football player. The choices we make dictate our future, and I am glad football helped me make good choices with the help of my parents, coaches, and friends," she told Soccerpower99.

The hardships she faced early on only fueled her desire to create a better future for the people of her community.

With deep-rooted compassion and an unyielding sense of responsibility, Makungu expressed her vision for the future.

"I am planning to help the people who don't have food and install water for the disadvantaged in the community,” she pledged.

While her journey to success has seen its fair share of challenges, Makungu is determined to inspire others to persevere.

"Most of my teams did not succeed, but I remained and gave those ones courage not to give up and that football pays," she shared.

Her words of encouragement and resilience have already touched the lives of many, and now, she seeks to translate that impact into concrete actions that will bring about lasting change.

Through collaborative charity events, fundraisers, and outreach programs, the football club and its star-forward hope to make a tangible difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

As a rising star in the Harambee Starlets, Makungu made her senior international debut in 2020 and has since become an integral part of the national team.

Her talent has taken her to places, such as Turkey, where she represented her country in a prestigious women's tournament.
