Kenyan midfielder Clarke Oduor will be playing in the English third tier next season after earning a stay of execution at his newly-promoted club.

Harambee Stars midfielder Clarke Oduor is assured of another season at English League One club Bradford City after earning a stay of execution.

Oduor was part of the Bradford City team that gained automatic promotion to League One, England’s third tier, having finished third in the fourth-tier League Two this season.

The midfielder, however, had to deal with injuries, managing 19 appearances, while scoring one goal for the Bantams but will hope that his extended stay will yield further dividends.

Oduor is among 15 players who still have contracts and have been retained by Bradford City with the Siaya-born midfielder having a year to go until June 2026 when his deal expires.

According to a statement on their website, Bradford have released six players whose contracts have expired, activated the one-year option on two others, while talks are underway with five more to renew their deals.

Oduor joined Bradford in July 2023 after the expiry of his contract at Barnsley and has played 62 league matches, scoring five goals, and providing as many assists.

Bradford will be hoping that Oduor and his team-mates have another good run in League One which will earn them promotion to the second tier English Championship.
