According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the female accuser alleges that Hairston sexually assaulted her in March 2021 while both were students at the University of Kentucky.

The woman said their first meeting occurred in early 2021 at a UK residence hall, where Hairston allegedly tried to “isolate her in his bedroom.”

Uncomfortable, she left the room but claimed Hairston messaged her shortly after on Snapchat to meet again before she declined.

The lawsuit states they had no further interaction until the alleged assault.

The woman claims Hairston entered her dorm room without permission and told her he was “high as f**k” and “trying to have sex.”

When she refused, Hairston allegedly removed her pyjama shorts and sexually assaulted her.

The plaintiff said she reported the incident to law enforcement immediately.

Officers reportedly collected a condom Hairston allegedly left in her trash can and also seized the clothes she was wearing during the alleged assault.

Trauma and fallout

The accuser claims the incident forced her to transfer from the University of Kentucky due to the trauma.

She is now suing Hairston for unspecified damages.

The woman’s legal team argues that the emotional and psychological impact of the alleged assault has had lasting consequences on her life and education.

The suit directly names Hairston’s actions and his mental state at the time, stating that he was openly intoxicated and ignored clear boundaries.

Maxwell Hairston was never criminally charged in connection to the alleged incident.
