Atalanta defeated Napoli 3-0 at the Diego Maradona Stadium thanks to two goals from the current African Footballer of the Year and one from Retegui in the first-leg tie.
Both players also scored in the second-leg tie to make history, but the outcome of the game did not go in their favour.
Lookman scored his twelfth goal of the season, adding to his total of six assists in 25 games across all competitions, despite the defeat.
The Nigerian international finished the 2024 season with an outstanding record of 22 goals and 13 assists in 46 games for Atalanta in all competitions.
The Nigerian will be keen to build on this performance and assist Atalanta in finding their rhythm in the forthcoming games as he attempts to rediscover his form.
