How did Moses Simon perform in his first start for Nantes after AFCON?
Nigerian winger Moses Simon marked his return to the Nantes starting lineup by providing the decisive assist in a 1-0 away victory against Lorient on Saturday.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that Simon put on a man-of-the-match performance to inspire Nantes to a quick return to winning ways after that heartbreak at home to PSG the last time.
Moses Simon shines for Nantes
After coming off the bench last weekend following AFCON 2023 duty, Simon was restored to the first XI and created the only goal of the game with a pinpoint 49th-minute pass finished off by Jean-Charles Castelletto.
The 28-year-old was bright throughout his 68 minutes on the pitch, completing 83% of passes and making two recoveries before being substituted.
It was Simon's fifth assist of the Ligue 1 season to go along with three goals, as he continues to be a productive creative force for Nantes.
The Nigerian's quick return to form will come as a big boost to Nantes, who grabbed a vital three points to ease their relegation fears in the Ligue 1.

It was Nantes’ seventh win of the campaign and leaves them 11th on 25 points, just three points above their visitors, Lorient, who are 17th on the table.
Moses and his Yellow and Green teammates will host Metz next at home in the Ligue 1 and would hope for more of the same from the Nigerian star.
