Thomas Frank hailed his team’s stellar performance after a 2-0 win against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Goals from Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha secured the win, propelling Spurs to the top of the Premier League table with six points from two matches.
City produced a lacklustre performance but Frank's men showed grit and determination to limit the hosts attacking threat for much of the game.
In his post-match interview, Frank praised his squad’s resilience and tactical discipline, particularly in the second half, where they outshone the hosts.
“The first 45 minutes were fairly even, with City a bit on top of us. We scored a great goal. Second half I think we were very good,” Frank said.
“I’m proud of my players, the performance. I think it was extraordinary. We know it’s always difficult to play at the Etihad.”
Tottenham remain in the market for a creative midfielder after missing out on Eberechi Eze, who joined Arsenal from Crystal Palace.
