Man City boss Guardiola hints at new signings with just days left of the transfer window
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola saw his team brought back to earth with a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
After a 4-0 rout of Wolves on the opening weekend, the Cityzens were buoyant, but their display was underwhelming, with goalkeeper James Trafford enduring a torrid day.
His error gifted Tottenham’s second goal, and he appeared unsteady throughout. With City linked to PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, Guardiola was pressed on his plans for the final week of the transfer window.
Guardiola on plans for transfer window
“We will see what happens. We have a long week left in the transfer window, with the club we’ll talk, with the players and agents, and we’ll see,” he said.

On Trafford, Pep added, “He made a good first game [vs. Wolves] and we decided to continue [with him]…”
Ilkay Gündogan and Manuel Akanji were omitted from the squad, with both players now expected to leave.
Long-serving Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson is also strongly linked with a move to Turkish side Galatasaray, and his departure could lead to the arrival of Donnarumma, who would become the new first choice.
