Iheanacho's time in Spain was largely underwhelming, with no goals in nine La Liga appearances, and he was largely confined to the bench towards the end.

The 28-year-old returns to England, where he previously played for Leicester City before making the move to Sevilla.

Despite his difficulties on the pitch, Iheanacho reflected positively on his experience in Spain.

"Obviously, it's good to leave (England). To feel like I'm in a different environment. It's a good atmosphere there," Iheanacho told Middlesbrough's official website.

"Sevilla is a great club. I've loved my experience there. I'll always be happy to go back there."

Iheanacho is now focused on his new challenge with Middlesbrough, stating,
