'I am in danger' - Ruben Amorim worried about Manchester United's winless run

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has acknowledged the intense pressure he faces at the club, stating he will "never be comfortable" in the role.

The former Sporting Lisbon coach recognizes his position at the Old Trafford club could be at risk if results don't improve.

United paid a substantial €11 million ($11.48 million) release clause to secure his services from Portuguese outfit Sporting Lisbon last month.

However, United's recent form has been deeply concerning, with five losses in their last seven matches across all competitions. This slump has left them languishing in 14th place in the Premier League, closer to the relegation zone than the coveted Champions League spots.

While the team initially showed promise under Amorim, including a notable victory over Manchester City, their performances have since deteriorated.

They were eliminated from the League Cup, and a recent 2-0 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers marked their fourth loss in five league games, leaving them 11 points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal, who also have a game in hand.

Amorim addressed the mounting pressure in a press conference, stating that he is danger.

"The manager of Manchester United can never, no matter what, be comfortable. I know that if we don't win, regardless of if they paid the buyout (clause to sign me) or not, I know that every manager is in danger and I like that. I like that because that is the job.

"You can argue that I have been here one month and I've had four training (sessions), but we are not winning. That is the reality and I'm quite comfortable with that," he said via Reuters.

Manchester United will face Newcastle United on Monday at Old Trafford.
